No Volume Control

Things continue to move slowly along.

Unfortunately with only 4 days of school behind her, Kat has caught her first cold from school. We assume it was Kat that caught it and brought it home and not Ellie just because she showed the first symptom. So both Kat and Ellie are sick. Kat more so than Ellie, but both are definitely feeling it. So looks like day 5 of school for Kat will be spent on the couch. We will judge Ellie in the morning and she might be going solo on the bus to school (I am so not ready for this).

On Saturday, when neither of them were feeling bad - Kat had a slightly sore throat, but that's it, we headed into the city. (side note - we are getting a kick out of that.. going to Orleans is now "going into the city". LOL Embrun is "going into town".) We made a trip to the mall to get Steph's hair cut, as well as Kat and Ellie's hair cut. It was a little late to call it pre-school hair cuts, but that's okay. We went to the cutest little place called "Melonhead". It's a kids haircutting place that just opened in June of this year. Steph and I noticed it when we were at the mall when we just got back to Ottawa. The girls really liked the place. Kat got to sit on a pony while getting her hair cut, and Ellie got to sit in a car. Because it was Ellie's first official haircut, she got a certificate, a photo and a lock of hair. She did great (not that i had any doubts). Kat got her hair cut to just above her shoulders, and Ellie got no more than an inch cut off.
