No Volume Control

Another late, lazy morning today. This is becoming a trend that it is hard to break when bedtimes continue to be at 10 or later at night. But we figure we'll fix it when we get home, and not worry about it now.

Breakfast in the hotel room that Steph and Kat went to pick up (Kat was the only kid awake when they went to get it 20 minutes before the breakfast was suppose to close). Then time to pack up the hotel room because it was time to move hotels again.

Today was all about enjoyment. We stopped at a Sobeys and got food for a picnic (bread, meat, veggies, cheese, etc), and then started the drive along the coast. First stop was Wood Islands Provincial Park. Not much there in regards of beaches, but we did get to see the ferry leave, and the girls got to run around the grass a little and play.
Next stop - Northumberland Provincial Park. A RED beach. :) Got three little girls into their swimsuits (good thing about little girls and dresses, easy to get them changed without having to use small bathroom stalls). And off to the water. Didn't take any convincing to get the girls' into the water - they have no issues with the ocean. :) Found lots of shells again - this time really big ones. Found a crab that made it known that he was still alive when I tried to see if he was alive or not - luckily I was faster than him. ;) And of course, Kat for the first Sand Dollar at this beach. It was hard to convince the girls that it was time to go, but the promise of another beach got them moving.

Changed out of swimsuits, and back into the car for about an hour until the next stop - Basin Head Beach. A white sand beach. It was a whole lot busier than the first beach, but when we got there, people were starting to clear out. Guess it's more of an early afternoon thing, than a pre-supper thing. We ate our picnic "lunch" there before going into the water. The great thing about both the beaches was the shallowness of the water. We could walk out for quite a bit without the water getting to our knees. So the girls could run and jump, and sit without worrying about the depth of water. The waves were bigger at this beach, so they had a lot of fun jumping over them, and falling into the water. Once again, hard to convince them to get out, but it was getting late, and it was time to go. Chances are pretty good that we will get to another beach - probably a couple more.

To end the day, we drove to Cavendish. And while it took a little while, we did find out motel and we think it's going to be a good one to stay in for 3 nights. :) A late "supper", and the girls are once again tuckered out and fast asleep.
