While it wasn't pouring out, there was a chance of rain all day, so we decided to spend the day inside as much as possible today. And with us staying at this motel for 3 nights, we figured we can alter the plans a little and rearrange things since we don't have to do everything on one day.
So first, we hit the Cranberry Village where there is a Tim's (only one around here), and a few "museums". We toured the Wax Museum, where the favourite displays of the girls were Mike and Sully (Monsters, Inc), and Shrek and donkey. They really like any of the characters that they recognized (from movies, and books). Next, was an interactive mining activity where you bought a bag of dirt, and with sifting trays and a "river" the girls were able to sift the sand out of the bag and find rocks and gems. They found lots of pretty stones, and even an arrowhead. Then down to The Ripley's museum. The girls were amazed and grossed out in that place. But the older two thoroughly enjoyed it.
The only place left there was a mini golf course, which we decided to wait on because of the weather and the hunger levels.
So off to the boardwalk we went. The Boardwalk is basically an outside mall surrounded by, you guessed it, a boardwalk. ;) We got Beavertails first. 5 different ones that we all shared. Yum! Then we wandered around all the stores. Bought a few souvenirs, and found a bunch more stuff that we would have loved to get. By then, the weather had kind of cleared up, so we went back to the mini golf course, and played a round. When asked, the girls all say that was the favourite part of the day. Of course Daddy won the game, but the girls did really good, and had a blast doing it.
We went to the pizza place on the boardwalk for supper, and then came back to the motel at a very decent hour. The girls wanted to swim, so we got changed and went out, but it was an extremely short swim because the water was apparently frigid - i didn't venture in, I was cold enough as it was.. didn't need cold water helping that process. ;)
And after a cuddle in bed (to get warm), the girls are nicely snug in bed asleep at a good hour. Tomorrow we venture back in time to visit Anne. Tonight, the parents stay awake so we can register the girls for swimming lessons.
