No Volume Control

 Last morning in PEI, and woke to cloudy skies and occasional rain.  Guess it was meant to be a driving morning.  We got all our stuff gathered, the clothes reorganized in the suitcases, and the car packed up.  Then we headed out.   We took a pretty direct route to Summerside with no real plans of what to accomplish there, other than of course to see it.  Found out that without a plan it's hard to figure out what to do.  If it wasn't for the weather, we would have stopped at the Summerside boardwalk  We had to make a stop at the regular due to the need for a bathroom, and while there the weather cleared up a little, so we ventured out to the beach between Summerside and the Bridge.  Pretty plain beach but beautiful view, and it was red sand which was great because I wanted to get some to bring home.  We didn't stay long there - water was quite chilly after the rain.  Next stop was the border village.  It's quite the set up.  As soon as you cross the bridge, there is this great grouping of stores which include gift shops, a Cow's store, an Anne of Green Gables chocolate store, and several other stores.  It's a great prelude to the whole island in one village.

After lunch, our last cow's taste, a little chocolate and we were back in the car.  Paid to leave the island (yup, free to visit the island, you just have to pay to leave the island), and back across the beautiful bridge to New Brunswick.   We went a new way, down the southern side, to get to Moncton.   We joked that we could have made a 20 minute detour and visited our 5th province on our trip (Nova Scotia). But we decided to not cheat, and keep Nova Scotia until next year.

 Arrived to Moncton at a decent time, had supper, and then went to check out Magnetic Hill.   While it's just basically an optical illusion, the girls were beyond amazed and flabbergasted!  We did it once, and they just wanted us to do it again.  The second time, we had Ellie (who had direct line of sight) to watch Daddy's foot on the gas pedal (and the fact that he did not touch the gas).  It was great that such a simple thing was so amazing to them!! :)
